Welcome to The North East Wales Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Foundation (formerly LGBT Wrexham and District).
The Foundation was pioneered in 2006 to explore ways of developing services for LGBT communities in North East Wales.
The Foundation was pioneered in 2006 to explore ways of developing services for LGBT communities in North East Wales.
It seeks to represent and be a voice for LGBT communities throughout North East Wales, to offer a safe and confidential space for meetings and social gatherings, to liaise closely with statutory and non-statutory organisations, to provide advice, information, guidance, support and training appropriate to the needs of the LGBT communities AND their friends. We also organise events and activities.
The organisation is managed by a committee of volunteers including a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.
"I was around when there was NOTHING going on, and my partner and I are delighted that there is something in Wrexham. NO-ONE should be isolated!"
- Susan, member.
